Chris Evans isn’t just a hero on screen but off as well. He’s best known for playing Captain America. He’s the superhero for one lucky rescue dog named Dodger.
The actor first introduced his Twitter followers to Dodger last year, and the sweet pooch has become somewhat of a celebrity. Dodger and Evans are the best of friends; his furry friend has become a fixture on his social media.
Before Evans came into his life, Dodger was just another dog kenneled at an animal shelter in need of a home. evans was on location shooting a movie.
He went to the shelter to adopt a dog. In honor of National Pet Day, the star shared his personal video where he first meets Dodger.
“This is the moment we met,”Evans tweeted. “He was trying so hard to stay seated even though he desperately wanted to get out. I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello.”
His clip went viral; and why not? It’s adorable. Man and dog immediately bonded, becoming the best of friends. It’s also a reminder for anyone considering welcoming an animal into their home: adopt, don’t shop. “Rescue dogs are the best dogs!!” Evans wrote.
All dogs need love, care, fun and attention. If you can find it in your heart and home to welcome one inside, they’ll love you for life.
