Dogs Help Toddler Escape Her Room So She Can Get Them Both Snacks

There is something about the bond between a dog and a child in the family that is just difficult to beat. It is something that warms our heart and it doesn’t matter if they are doing something good or bad, it is difficult not to smile inside of ourselves at what is taking place. That was the case with this family who saw something happening that they couldn’t resist sharing. Now, the entire Internet’s smiling about it!

I’d like to introduce you to Colby and Bleu, golden retrievers that are part of the Cardinal family. They have been loving members of the family for quite some time but the world changed about 15 months ago and, as you are about to see, a change for the better.

It was 15 months ago that Chloe came into their life. Chloe is their baby sister and she was an addition that was welcomed by the entire family! At first, the relationship was innocent enough but it didn’t take long before the dog started to corrupt the little baby and they turned her to a life of crime.

Chris Cardinal, the father of this trio said that Colby immediately was taken with Chloe. Bleu took a little bit of time but eventually, he realized that she brought something very interesting to the table.

Things continue to progress and Chloe was growing on a day by day basis. Soon, she was a toddler and she became a favorite of both of the dogs for a rather interesting reason. They were hanging out underneath her highchair because of the dropped food but, as it turns out, she also learned how to give treats to the dogs rather early as well.

Like any dog, both Colby and Bleu were absolutely in love with the fact that they got lots of snacks from Chloe. They even began to devise a plan so that they could get more snacks!

Yes, it wasn’t enough that they were getting the dropped food from the highchair, they wanted to pull off a bigger heist.

One morning, Chloe’s parents found her outside of her room and they couldn’t figure out how she got there. The door was closed at night time and Chloe couldn’t reach the doorknob. That is when they looked at the video footage from the camera outside of her room. It turns out that the dogs were in cahoots with Chloe because they wanted an early snack that day.

Cardinal said that they certainly knew what they were doing. He continued: “They start getting real hungry around 6 a.m., and instead of barking outside our room, I think they figured they’d try the baby. They’ve snuck into her room before overnight once, but not for breakfast. (At the time, she wasn’t walking yet.) So this is the first time it effected a prison break.”

Chloe was thrilled to be a partner in crime. The parents, on the other hand, are concerned that this may only be the beginning of their crime spree in life.

Cardinal said: “Chloe wakes up every morning and asks to see ‘puppeh’. She has to go give them their pets each morning. They teach her how to be gentle with animals, socialization, etc. – and also how to get back up when they knock her over, which happens from time to time.”

Now that they see the direction that this is going, they are starting to reconsider having more children. LOL
