In First Interview Since Her Accident, Carrie Underwood Finally Comes Forward With The Truth

Carrie Underwood is country music’s sweetheart; so when we all learned about her scary fall last year, we wanted the particulars. How did it happen? Where did it happen? Is Carrie all right? Her fans grew concerned when they learned about how serious her fall was and how it made her look different.

We all didn’t know Carrie was also freaked out by the accident. She has been very quiet about the fall itself and what she’s done afterward. She gave an interview with the Bobby Bones Show that will hopefully answer some of her fans questions.

Carrie addressed how things unfolded that day. It involved her dogs. “I was taking the dogs out to go pee pee one last time, and I tripped, and there was one step. I  didn’t let go of the leashes – priorities! So that’s why the left hand is fine.

“I went to catch myself, and I just missed a step. If I had fallen anywhere else, I would have perfectly been fine. It was one step that messed everything up.”

She was rushed to the hospital where doctors did all they could to repair her broken wrist and facial injury. Doctors put over 40 stitches in her face.

Because she is a performer, Carrie always feared about having scars like this on her face. It is her worst nightmare. How would her fans and family respond?

In the interview, she admitted her biggest fear was how her son would respond to her face and scars. “For a while, I was worried he would be scared of me, but now if I put makeup on, he’s like,  ‘Mommy, your boo-boo’s all gone!'”

Carrie had nothing to worry about. Her scars healed beautifully; her fans and family have been by her side the entire time.

She also spoke about how despite others capturing photos of her since the accident, she’s really one who enjoys staying home. “I don’t think I hide. There’s always stuff to do, even if it’s not necessarily playing shows. I’m kind of a homebody, a hermit…

“I was lucky that when it happened, everything was kind of shutting down in the music world, and we had the holidays and stuff like that, but I was at a point where I didn’t know how things were gonna end up. I didn’t know what was gonna go on. I didn’t know what it was going to heal like.”

Thanks to medicine and countless prayers, Carrie has made a full recovery.
