Christine Carlos was at the beach one day when she finally realized that she was ready to stop being overweight. The 32 year old mother had allowed herself to balloon to 225 pounds and struggling to play with her little girl as a result. Ysabella wanted to play with her mother. However, Christina’s body was not willing to cooperate and this left her feeling as if a change needed to be made.
From there, she knew that she would need to amend her whole lifestyle. It was time to make some much needed tweaks to her cuisine. She started by cutting out all of the fast food that she was eating. She also slashed the number of carbs that she was consuming and replaced her poor eating choices with plenty of vegetables. Within five months, she had already dropped 50 pounds.
(Swipe left) These two pictures and a couple more during my family vacation back in 2012 were my biggest wake up call. Especially the ones where I was in my swimsuit tanning🙈. I gained tons of weight during my late teenage years. I guess due to depression from moving away from the country I grew up in. I found comfort in food, became lethargic and really shy. From then on, I tried losing weight a few times which made my weight fluctuate up and down. I had my child in 2007 and I got even more bigger. I realized in 2012 during that summer that I can't live my life just dreaming and watching people live their life to the fullest. I can't sit around and not be active with my little one. And I can't risk having health issues. I wanted more out of life. I wanted to feel alive for my child and I want to set a good example for her. That's my back story Since then I lost 100 lbs and kept it off. Right now I'm 15 lbs above my usual stage weight and that's okay because competing isn't in my plans at the moment. I have good and bad days just like everyone else. What matters is that even if I feel like I'm failing at some point, I keep going and I try my best everyday. My goal right now is to be stronger and build the best body I could achieve in the healthiest way possible without going to extremes. A fitness journey doesn't have a finish line. You're also never too old to start Before I get asked again. I didn't have any type or surgery to lose weight and I didn't have any type of skin surgery either. Instead of relying on fast food to fuel her body, she began to consume oatmeal, eggs, salad, fish and vegetables. Christine also added regular workouts to her daily routine. She got started by running on her treadmill at home for 45 minutes per day and slowly progressed into jogging. Tabata workouts also became an integral part of her overall fitness plan.
She would soon lose 100 pounds. Christine was not about to rest on her laurels, though. She wanted to keep going and her next goal was to participate in a bikini contest. Christine decided to add weightlifting to her workout routine and this allowed her to shed even more weight. After overcoming her initial stage fright with a little help from her daughter, she felt as if she had truly achieved something special.
I guess you can say that I have always posed like this lol. I also have always liked wearing dresses and comfy leggings. Love cooking and food in general. I'm still the same person, overweight or not. The difference is my mindset. How I value my health more. How I eat, which I try to balance now. How much more energy I have and how I look at things more positively. Turning your health around benefits a lot of things in life. Life is short, so value your body, yourself, those in your life. . . Her diet is now a bit more relaxed. Christine no longer feels the need to deprive herself of any of her favorites and regularly enjoys cheat meals. While she has since gained back 15 pounds, she is more than happy with the current state of her body. Christine now provides helpful advice to those who seek the same type of results that she was able to achieve.
This is more of a reverse type of transformation. For those of you that don't know my back story. I was obese for most of my adult life. About 5 years ago I started my weight loss journey. Lost 100 lbs and went into body building competitions in the bikini category. . . The left photo was me during my last prep. Which was a couple years ago. And the right photo is my current physique. I have been off of prep for two years now. So obviously I don't have the need to really restrict myself as much. (I'm surprised that my bikini still fits even if it's a little snug 😂). This is just me trying to maintain a more sustainable and balanced lifestyle. Obviously not trying to go to the extremes. Listening to what my body needs nutritionally and also getting enough rest from the gym when I need to. She advises those who wish to lose weight to simply take it one day at a time. This is very sound advice. After all, we do not become overweight overnight. As a result, we cannot reasonably expect to shed all of the weight overnight.
