Are you ready to get freaked out by the simplest of concepts? Are you prepared to see a photo that will forever change the way you look at the streets that you see every day? If so, this is the perfect story for you. There is an optical illusion currently making the rounds online and it has people everywhere buzzing. How could a street be made to look this way?
The pictures show two different photos of the street. The same photo has been used for both sides of the illusion and while it may look as if they have taken at separate angles, this is the furthest thing from the truth. As hard as it may be for readers to believe that the photos are identical, the person who posted them originally has held onto the evidence.
That’s right. All of the skeptics out there who believe that this is some form of Photoshop trickery will certainly have to eat their words now. The craziest part of all is that the illusion still remains no matter how the photos are placed next to one another. Even if the pictures are paired with one another vertically, they still look the same.
One of the commentators on Imgur tried to break down the images in a manner that is easy to understand. The reason for this illusion is a rather simple one. The brain is confused by the image because it is trying to tell us one thing while a completely different situation is taking place.
Our minds have been trained to believe that this is just a fork in the road.
The brain insists that it is looking at a fork in the road when the truth is much less complicated. The French artist who is responsible for the image used the same principles that are deployed in the famous “leaning tower” illusion that we have all seen so many times before. Our brains have a way of warping the images that we look at and changing our whole perspective.

This is a classic example of the “insane in the brain” concept at work. Thanks to our brain’s knowledge of perception, we are made to perceive photos like these in a certain way. Our minds believe that images like these cannot actually remain perfectly parallel.
That is why most people would look at the optical illusion and believe that they are seeing a fork in the road instead. Please be sure to pass this intriguing illusion along to your closest friends and loved ones.
