It’s awesome to see parents spending quality time with their children. Mainly if the parent/children are Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and his two girls, Harper and Violet rocking out at a benefit concert. Dave took some time away from the Foo fighters who are currently on a world tour to headline a charity concert to raise money for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
The lucky attendees were treated to Grohl covering some of his band’s best songs acoustically. These included ‘My Hero;, ‘Everlong,’ ‘Learn To Fly’ and many more. 12-year-old Violet then joined him to play a cover of Adelle’s ‘When We Were Young.’
Before breaking into song, Grohl told the audience a story about his young daughter. “I remember her saying, ‘Dad, you’re not even the best singer in the family,’”Grohl recounted. “And she’s right!”
Fans agree with her. After seeing this video, you might too. YouTube user “LeAvE it to WeAvEr” commented, “Omg Dave! You’re in for it because that girl had GOT IT. She’s amazing!” And YouTube user Carrie Alexander commented, “She was a very good, but my favorite part was watching Dave’s face when she hit some of those notes. What a huge pride-filled smile!”
That wasn’t the only surprise dave had for the audience at the May 12th event. He brought out his younger daughter, 9-year-old Harper to accompany him and Violet for the Foo Fighters ‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood.’ Next, Harper hit the drums and left the singing to her Dad and sister as the trio performed a rendition of Queens ‘We Will Rock You.’
One fan said of this fan-recorded video of the three, “Cannot wait to see what happens in the future, these girls are going to be amazing, I hope they stick with rock.” And YouTube user “Dagzilla brofist” commented, “I hope one day these two young Grohls start a band and play music like their dad.”
Harper’s a pro at performing with dad. In 2017, she played the drums for a few songs at a concert in Greece. To see how incredibly talented this family is, watch the video below.
